Absolutely,
Many scanners come with the ability to scan negatives. The software then converts the negative to a positive. Check out the Epson website.

You may also be able to find a local shop that does this professionally. They should have better equipment than you can reasonably buy, and will save you a lot of work - if you're willing to pay for the service.

There are a lot of devices on the market for doing exactly that, digitizing negatives into photos if your scanner or printer doesn't have that feature built in. I know that there are scanners specifically geared for scanning negatives and slides for digitization. Some of them are cheap and relatively easy to use and others are very expensive. Most Slide and Negative scanners actually work surprisingly well, but I would stay away from the cheap ones. They can be riddled with software and compatibility issues. Also the cheap ones don't create high resolution images and the quality of the scans can be very disappointing.

Slides can be easily converted, while negatives need a little bit more work. Photoshop Elements can convert the negatives to positive photos once entered into a computer. You can easily accomplish this by selecting the "Inverse Colors" option in your toolbar in Photoshop.

Here is a website shopping link that shows scanners for what you want to do. Hope this helps answer your question.

I have an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner and I also hoot 120/220mm B&W film with my Mamiya 645 AFD camera and scan the film into the computer to process in Photoshop CS5. It workes great and would recomend this setup.

i have a Canon printer that does 35mm negatives and slides-(terrific quality)- it doesn't have film holders for odd sized films.

The Epson 4180 PHOTO will scan 120 and 620 positive or negative film. The scanner comes with carriers for 35mm, 120 and 620.

I bought a plusteck Optifilm 7500 with software for around $300 so I could scan a mountain of 35mm slides and negatives. It isn't the fastest but works very well. I figure when I am done I could sell it and recoup a good share of the cost. If you google this you will see it gets good reviews.

I have posted this before....Costco.com sells a 35mm slide and negative scanner for around $80. I think it does a good job ....just make sure you blow all the dust off first.

Plus I received a coupon for a 100 free prints when I got it.

Hope this helps.

A POOR MANS SCANNER. If you don't have a way to import your negatives into your computer and you have a digital camera a tripod and one of the photoshop programs a light source with a white opaque top like for viewing slides or negatives or even sandwich a white plastic bag between two pieces of glass with a lamp shining up from the bottom, Lay your negative on top of your light source cover with a clean piece of glass take a picture straight on with your digital camera framing as much of the negative as possible import it into photoshop invert it and now your negative you took is now a positive and you can edit to your liking. You can even lay out a some tape to be able to quickly change your negatives for the next shot.

The "poor man's scanner" works very well. I use a Nikon D-700 with a Nikon Micro 60mm lens. I also use a slide viewer panel as the light source which produces exactly 5500K color. Once adjusted I can shoot a 35mm slide every 5 seconds. Great results!
