People, including parents, have become so paranoid in having their pictures taken or their children... maybe rightly so.
But like has been said before, when you are in public, it is just that.... when in public would you rather have a person with an obvious camera taking pictures or someone not so obviously taking pictures with an iphone.... Does it make a difference.
Everyone today has some form of a camera it seems; and, all are having fun practicing taking pictures, albeit, there are a few "nuts" roaming about.
Again, are you going to sacrifice freedom because of a few " nuts ".
I say no. And if some one is concerned their picture might be taken, maybe, they should or might just stay home these days, although there are people taking pictures from airplanes and satellites too.
So see the real reality of today.
Enjoy life and keep your children close to you...
FEAR is the devils best advocate.
Although I am under the legal obligation to ask permission, I always have. In this day and age, there are too many "weirdos" in the world......

I took my kids to my favorite photo spot last weekend to get some nice fall photos. (I have a set of almost 3-year-old twins and a 15 month old). My son was pulling a wagon with his sisters in it and I was carrying my gear and some props out to the spot. This spot is very popular and there were about 6 other photographers there. As we were walking, one of them stopped what he was doing and snapped a few pics of my kids, particularly my son who was pulling the wagon. Maybe he was just photographing the "idea" for one of his future clients (little boy with wagon, etc)? Although it was a nice compliment that he noticed my kids, I think he should have asked first.
What do you think? I'm a little sensitive to people taking photos of my kids because I don't know what they might be taking the photos for. Just wondered what other photographers and other parents thought. Thanks!
