I like fruit cake...this year I got one at Costco and have wrapped in a bourbon soaked cloth till the holiday. I also like plum pudding...the best is from Seattle. I order one every year. It's the only domestically produced product that comes close to a non-vegetarian British homemade pudding.

Thanks for your response......I bought one of those 2" x 2" x 8" +/- ,that was already sliced, from "Kroger" (about $5), similar to photo, and ate a couple slices a day 'til it was gone.....couldn't wait for Christmas.....
I love fruit cake - the richer and darker the better! The one in the pic above (Kroger, I think someone said) is just too light for me. I love plum pudding and fruit mince, too.

We make our fruitcakes. We make them in late October. We wrap them in /rum soaked cheese cloth. On the last week before Christmas we start eating them. We usually make extra to freeze. I found one (small loaf pan size) in the back of freezer. It was 5 years old. Decided to try it and was amazed it was still moist and good. My wife said nothing could ruin with amount of rum I used to soak them.
Merry Christmas
There is nothing better than a nice slice of Christmas pudding with custard and cream after your Christmas lunch, mmmm can't wait. Here in Australia the Arnotts Christmas pudding is one of the very best.
I don't like fruitcake I LOVE them. My girl friend makes them for her family. So far I have only consumed one on my own.
Fruit Cakes make great door stops.
