New FAQ needed

Now that we have tweaked FAQ: Why are there macro lenses of different focal lengths?,
we need another FAQ entitled FAQ: What are "Reverse-Mounted Lenses", and "Stacked Lenses" for Macro?

Geff, Martin, Efram, & anyone else interested:
Please write a short paragraph on each subject. I will do the same. I will combine & edit, then post for critique and additions.

Douglass, Wish I could help, but I have no experience with reverse or stack lens. Heck I've never even used tubes yet, just a babe when it comes to macro, Martin

I'll put that on my get around to list, I have to be in the mood to write, I tend to be wordy but I also try to walk people through the process and share the learning curve, I have to be in the right frame of mind to do a topic justice. Kinda like it took me quite some time to ever post my setup to the setup thread...

Thank goodness for that! I have tried to drag Martin to try a little lens stacking and he just wont take the leap, in retrospect maybe that is a good thing... Judging from the way that he has mastered the use of his macro lens I would venture to say that he is a perfectionist and would soon be posting pics that would put us all to shame.... Best that he stay with his macro lens least we all become embarrassed to post pics on the same forum as his work.  :|

It is Efram Goldberg that has the "Reversed Lens" experience. We need his input for that discipline, and anyone else with such experience.

Yes, I almost suggested that you ask for his input as he felt that he had mastered reverse lens before moving on to his MP-E 65. Reading his comments I picked up some tips from him...

Without the help of this forum I would still be in the weeds. Big shout out to Douglass for making this possible. I also watch and read all of your post carefully, storing the info for future use. I've been reading up on the lens reverse on tubes and been wanting to try that route, but also wanting to use lens stacking as well. Still don't have my flash perfected and haven't bought the software for stacking photos yet. Hopefully Santa will stop by the house and leave a few gifts. Has been a tough year financially. With all the great tips and knowledge on this forum I've been able to save money. With everyone sharing their knowledge it makes it a lot easier to choose the right equipment, I'm at a place in life where I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Maybe someday Douglass will let me write a section about locating insects to photograph, at this I'm pretty good and don't mine sharing my knowledge. And yes I'm a perfectionist/anal so watch out Blurryeyed!
