Here is a crop of image #2, which demonstrates your very narrow DoF at f/6.3.

Ok think I've released RING FLASH or pop up flash diffused but focusing is a pain in the a**e.

My O-Flash is a US$30 attachment on a standard speedlight. I set my camera to ISO 400, which gives me decent background exposure in full sunlight, and darkened background in overcast lighting. My speedlight is usually 1/2 power at f/16 or full power at f/22 for proper exposure of subject. I can adjust from there.

I do not change my shutter duration of 1/200-sec, as this helps stabilize my background movement. The short speedlight flash duration freezes my subject movement.

With auto-aperture, I can compose & focus wide-open, then the lens closes down to f/22 for exposure.
