Lizards and a Black Cockatoo.

Came across these during one of my walks through the forest. Not always easy to shoot birds, animals etc in their natural habitat as they rarely stay still long enough. Also, I have trouble trying to steady the camera when zooming and trying to capture anything way above head height.
These three shots were handheld and the first lizard was zoomed to my lens' maximum = 720mm equiv. The other two were almost the same. When zooming at this range I find that I tend to rock backwards and forwards and hope that I get the result. All were cropped and some minor adjustments were made to improve the overall appearance.
Black cockatoos are not as common as the white.

I do have a tripod but find it a bit cumbersome walking through the forest. Maybe if I was only looking for fauna it would be worthwhile. Also, I carry a stick in case of snakes so this also makes a tripod a hindrance. Just have to keep trying and hoping. They say that any shot is better than none at all.

Your Black Cockatoo shot did focus, but unfortunately on the leaves behind. You may want to change the focusing area in your camera to a single point - (center)and not on multi focus points.
