I remember back in the fifties, shooting three three sheets of black & white film through three color filters and then, in the darkroom, printing out three color matrixes from this film and then transfering the dyed matrixes to paper in order to achieve a color photograph. Also, certain photo studios back then used a special three sheet color camera in order to make all three negatives in one shot.
