Barbara Berry, a teacher and professional photographer in Southlake, TX, is renting her studio with supervision. I have taken a class with her and she does great work and offers wonderful assistance. I just think this is a very clever marketing idea on her part when her studio would otherwise be dormant. What a great way to help others and not have the Post Processing headaches, while giving others a chance to be proud of their images. Below is her post on her monthly email newsletter. She is quite innovative in the teaching process. Check out other ideas she is doing that benefits learning.

We are opening up our studio just for you on December 23rd and 31st! You will have access to all props, lights, backdrops! We will set your camera to the proper settings for the studio and all you need to bring is your camera and your family. You can reserve your time by clicking on either date below and reserving the time slot you want."
The instructor I had for several classes rents his studio out, too. He quoted me a price of $30 per hour (year round). In all honesty, that is a very reasonable price. He has a rather nice studio with several backdrops, props, and lighting available. He does not, however, advertise or tell just anyone about this offer. He only offers to people he knows and trusts around his equipment. After the aggravation I faced last night in my own tiny studio, I may just take him up on that offer.

I am on Barbara's email list from a past photo class. I do like the supervision she suggests. Her studio is not large, but she has lots of props. She has a photo club that helps out as well. I am a novice, but love learning. :) I am amazed and proud of the leaps I have made since last year's images, due to all the help that I continually receive from UHH and from various resources.
Sounds like a great way to get some vabuale studio time without all the expence.
