Love my 7D - - but I am also looking for a good Bridge.
Nikon P510 won't capture RAW <dumb! Perfect otherwise>
Panasonic FZ-150 No GPS
Canon SX50 - No RAW, No GPS

Things I Want:
Store RAW and JPG
Reasonable low light (ISO 6400 - low noise) and wide aperture f/4.0
Articulated Screen
24mm wide (or wider) to 600 or 800+ Zoom with Image Stabilization.
GPS Geo-tagging
Reasonable CA and lens distortion
Good battery performance
12+ Megapixel

SX50 DOES SAVE RAW!!
ISO 6400 at least
GPS the only thing missing that I see.\
Also the Canon SX40/SX50 have Hot Shoe that the Nikon P510 doesn't.
I would go SX50. Right now it looks like quite a few places have it at $399

Yup! SX50 shoots RAW, 50x optical (25mm-1200mm).
Just doesn't have GPS

Thx all - - you're right of course - the SX50 will save RAW as will the FZ200 {and the FZ150) - but none with GPS.
I know Canon makes a hot-shoe module with GPS - likely compatible with the SX50 - I'm just looking for everything in one package.
I have the 7D - - I can wait for someone to come up with it all - - I just hope it is NOT sony (the company I hate to like)
How about Fujifilm X-S1?
It has F2.8 - F5.6, though.
But sounds like a great bridge!

Did you look at Sony? They have quite a few cameras with GPS.

I may just be a silly old man, but why does one need GPS? Don't people know where they are when they take a picture?

Not always, seriously. And when you get back home - hundreds of miles away - it's even worse. Now which little New England town was that?
I could be taking pictures of Nature all day. When I get back home, one tree looks very similar to another. I have a GPS app, Geotag Photos, that matches time of day with each photo.

I wondered about that also. But thought it would be interesting to find out so I bought a camera with the capability a couple of years ago.
I didn't think it was worth much till I bought Lightroom 4 a couple of months ago. Then I found that it magically shows on a map of the world where I took all the pictures using that camera. I can click on the place and all the pictures I took there showed up. I think that is very useful.
I also just bought Photoshop Elements 11 and found it has the same capability.
With Lightroom I am able to synch the GPS info from my P&S to the pics I made in the same place with my DSLR.
I expect all cameras will have the capbility within a few years. I am not going to buy one of those clunky add-ons that Nikon offers. I want it in the camera. I was hoping the D5200 would have it. Not.
