I can't draw worth spit. Nor sketch, nor paint, nor carve, etc. I have not really tried PSE 10, nor have any inkling about full-blown PhotoShop.

But just today, I purchased & downloaded a $30 program called Smart Photo Editor that lets me apply other peoples successful manipulation techniques to my photographs. The program contains hundreds of effects:

Below is a texture effect called "brick wall" that I did in 30-seconds. The intensity of brick is variable. This is 70%.

Sorry Douglass, it's wasted on me...I prefer the original. IMHO.

I like it.

I was thinking that it would be neat to be able to convert some of the pictures that I eMail to my mother into puzzles so that she would first have to assemble the pieces to be able to view the picture. Any ideas?

Very nice artistic value Douglass! I really like it. Of course, not purist-essential for real-life nature macro study of insects, etc. but it certainly is pleasant artistically. I tried my first HDR of a tiffany lamp last night and I liked it too. I know it isn't for everyone either (in fact I used to dislike it :) ...) but I was pretty pleased with the results myself. I guess I'll have to try this out too. Think it would work very nicely on my flower photos. Thanks for sharing!

PS: Can you take my rock rose picture and try it with the brick so I can see what it looks like?

Hi Doug, That is a neat effect, it appears the photo is printed on a brick wall. It would be even better if you could change the size of the bricks. If you made them smaller it would appear as if the image is larger.

Sorry to be a killjoy Nikonian72 but I don't think this is you having seen alot of your wk on UHH. I agree with some others that the first pic is a masterprice & didn't need any trick photography doing to it.

Maybe you are branching out in yr field of photography.
