Great shots, especially the Spoonbill (I surmise) I used to live on the perimeter of the Caroni swamp in Trinidad and at dusk the Ibis return from Venezuala in a huge mass and its one of the seven wonderous sights I have ever seen.
They float beets in the water for the birds to eat !which supposedly helps with their intense coloration.

Ok sure.
Camera used is a Canon 7D with Canon 300 f4 L lens with a Canon 1.4 extender.
Manual exposure with most at 1250-1600 at 6.3 with ISO at 200

Great photos of the birds! I assume you use a tripod. How do you manually focus as they move so fast & the lens must be so big?
