These were taken at Ft Simcoe near White Swan Washington. They come in to eat the acorns, apples and pears in the trees on the property. There were two sows with two cubs each.

Surprise!
The curious one!
Three in a row!
That's the spot!
love 'm all. i'm glad you didn't get too close. a local hunter tells a tale of being up a tree and watching a momma bear take down a bobcat that got the idea that one of her cubs would be a tasty lunch - he ended up being on the menu. the bobcat that is, not the hunter. He stayed "treed" until everyone left and his heart rate dropped back to normal. this was in east central Alabama.

There was a couple behind me sitting on the grass watching me take pictures! I went up to the young lady and told her tha if the bear charged I was going to trip her! She said why would you do that! I told her I was old and can't run as fast as i used to! She laughed as she backed off!
I love the bear pictures! I love bears of all kinds! They look so sweet until they get upset!

LittleBiddle, mama bears with cubs can be extremely dangerous. I probably don't have to reiterate to you to be careful, cautious, and concerned if you're a native to the area there. I would not like to see UHH members become a USF+G statistic.

We gave them plenty of room to go about their foraging. There was also a park ranger close to make sure everyone stayed a safe distance. I know you can't outrun a momma bear!
Here is my only bear shot.
These shots are fantastic! You really captured the right moments with these beautiful bears. Glad you stayed safe during the adventure.

Is this over in Squim?
Yep it is! I figured someone from Washington would recognize her.
It was after my son's wedding we went there with the son(grand). All he wanted to see were the seagulls chasing us. LOL

I went by him one time and he sat up like this and waved at us! I wanted to take him home!
I could have sworn only BLACK bears were able to climb trees, not brown ones! Love the black bear next to last... He looks like he just had his tummy filled.
