Just a few months ago, I bought a LensPen (the brand name one, not a knock-off). I find it very easy to use, no fiddling with pieces of fabric that flap where you don't want it, and liquids to use.
I like it. Retail around $13.00

This is a common question and topic of discussion here on UHH. And a very important one.

I recommend that you read some of the previous posts by UHH members and then see if there is something specific you wish to know more about. It is a broad topic with many differing opinions and experiences.

Do a search for "lens cleaning".
Here are a few recentled posted discussions containing some interesting and useful information:

A lens pen.... there are three different ones. Don't use them on polariser filters.
I tend to use the brush end only on coated lenses.

Don, I'm guessing you have found these to be safe for camera optics. I bought I large box for my wife's and my eyeglasses and haven't been real fond of them for that purpose. Should I try them on my camera lenses?

Hi there Lol' Like other members I use a "Lenspen original NLP1" its like a ladies lipstick about 4.5" long and can be kept in a pocket. It has soft brush one end and a lens cleaner in the other, and costs about £8.from

By the way please ignore the stupid comment from our fellow UK member "JR1" that's typical of him.

Go to the Walmart eyeglass center and buy a box of their glass cleaning wipes. They work great and are quite inexpensive. They are made for plastic eyeglass lenses so won't hurt your glass camera lens.

Use a camel hair brush first to remove any hard dust particles that might scratch.

HUH... I read about the light acids in your saliva that transfer to optical glass and over a long term affect any coatings. I didnt pay for Pro Lenses only to trash them. cleaning fluid is cheap, as are cleaning cloths in comparison. Good care will save save save you in the long term.
