Canon L series 100-400 image stabilized lens in very good condition. I bought this new from B&H over a year ago and it works perfectly. It has always had a filter on the glass and shows very little wear. It comes with the caps, tripod mount and soft case. I will look for the box..but no promises, I am currently in the Grand Canyon and the box is in Texas..go figure.
The lens focuses quickly and quietly and the stabilization works flawlessly.

Does the lens zoom creep forward from gravity? This is the biggest problem with the 100-400mm lens.
Nope. If you tighten the friction ring just a bit it stays put as it should. I have heard that it is a problem, but have not experienced it with this lens.

Dudes, I was just asking the condition of his 100-400. I have one already and had to have it fixed by Canon. This is the first things to wear out on this type of lens. Now that mine is fixed, it's perfect. Don't ever try to repair it yourself. Canon tells me that there's hundreds of little ball bearings that will fall out if you try to take one apart yourself. The repair guy commended me for NOT trying myself.
Good luck on selling it and I know that the person that buys it will love it.
PS - if anyone does have one that needs to be fixed, it cost less than $300 - although I am a member of CPS (Canon Professional Services) and they give some members 30% off parts and labor on all repairs.

this is probably the best lens in its class. if i may ask;why would you want to sell it. thanks rick
I have been wanting to try a 400mm prime and selling my zoom was the best way for me to get there. I also have a 28-300 L series that I use all of the time as my "walking around" lens..because it is hand holdable and tack sharp..so the 100-400 sale made sense for me. I will not be sorry to keep it though, it is a great lens and even coupled with a 1.4X teleconverter provides great images.
