My friends daughter is interested in photography & will be taking a photography class at school & needs to get a camera. She has decided on two cameras & would like to know which would be best suited for her. The "FujiFilm FinePix S4250", or the " GE X400 Black 14MP Digital Camera"

Go with the Fuji. For a few extra bucks worth it. Get a daylight filter. Don't bother extended warranty. quote=James F.]My friends daughter is interested in photography & will be taking a photography class at school & needs to get a camera. Definitely the Fuji!! Better camera for not that much more.
GE isn't bad, but for her purposes the Fuji will be MUCH better!

GE X400 $119 Walmart
Finepix 4250 $149 Walmart

Check out the previews and specs on Google.
If $30 means a lot to you perhaps the absence (if any) of some finepix features on the X400 won't be missed.

The little extra money going for the Fuji will get a longer zoom and much better photo quality.

Definitely Fuji, it will still be working next year, the GE likely will not be.
