Good Day to all,
I am new to this forum and glad to be here.
I was into film photography in the mid '70s through the '80s.
I really enjoyed the darkroom work. Raising a family and working, I dropped away from photography. A few months ago my wife (Inger) stated she would like to get into photography and would like for us both to do it together. We had a fuji finepix point and shoot camera and while it is a fine enough tool, not really the tool you would want to use for semi-serious work. I bought her the Nikon 3100 to get her started. She was shocked at the ability to compose and create photos. At first it seemed to be a little overwhelming for her with all of the information on the camera. I thought she was going to just drop the idea of doing her photography. But she is taking it one step at a time and I am very patient with her occasional frustration. As the days go she is learning and growing and that is rewarding to me.
I still have my darkroom equipment and plan transferring some of the digital photos to negative and putting the prints on different kinds of media. I did some of this a couple of years ago and it was a kick. I convert the color digital photo to black and white, then convert that into a negative and print the negative to overhead transparency (make the size of the negative to the size of the print). I am then able to make prints on plates of aluminum, stainless steel, flat rocks, ceramic tile, homemade paper, etc.
Our daughter and her two children live with us since she was medically discharged from the Air Force so space is limited for me to have my darkroom being set-up. She is in the process of buying her home and in the next couple of months I should be able to get my gear back out, Inger will be more comfortable with her camera and we will be getting some things done. I'm 55, married since 1976, multiple myeloma 1997, stem cell transplant 1998.

Buddylars, a very warm welcome to you and your family to the hog. I do feel you all will be a great asset to the group. We are a friendly group and im sure you will become close friends to some of the people here. I hope your daughter gets a house close to you so that you can be with her and the grandkids, and of course to take lots of pictures of them, which is what grandpas do. LOL.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Hi Rich,
My daughter will be purchasing her home 2 miles away, in our neighboring town called Roscoe.
Gaylord, my wife may join later, her days are busy as she takes care of her Mom (her Mom is still able to live in her own home) but needs Inger (wife) to give her medication and make her meals.
Thanks all for the greetings.
