My favorite is still Donald, though he doesn't get as mad as he used to.

LOVE the saddlebreds. I'd have had one myself, but there are no shows near here for them. I had 77 walking horses at one time and as we got older we started cutting down, selling horses and land until we are now SMALL. We just have 4 now. I'd also love a Gypsy Vanner and a nice Dressage horse, but there is nothing for them around here either. I am an equine artist. I do people's horses, dogs, cats and birds on their greeting cards. (Paint, then scan and print) The card business is a bit overwhelming this year. I have had some of the same customers for over 45 years and this year brought on a whole new HUGE group added to those, so can I say I am BUSY right now? I'd like to spend more time here, but won't until Dec 23!!!!

Too funny. I shoot a lot of horse shows and it wouldn't surprise me to see a horse swinging a hoop. Ha

Hello Horseart!

Thanks for your reply. Yes I can see how involved you are with your horses and the art work... I have reviewed your web site and you are bless with a great talent....

I was also concerned with your printer problem and see that you have fixed that and are now back up and running smoothly again.

The Devon Horse show is 1 and a 1/2 miles from my home, your helper probably drove past my home many times... My wife and I go once a year and really enjoy the day.

Seems that you have enjoyed being around horses all your life... It looks like you were born to be a part of there lives or visa versa... Anyway I look forward to seeing more of your work, and I will be posting more Devon Horse show photos on the forum....

I know this is a busy time of year for you so I'll catch you on the Forum.....

Merry Christmas!

Jo, Thanks for your website. I read the poem "The Foal" and I'm sitting here crying like a baby. I have had my horse (see avatar) since he was 10 months old- he will be 15 this spring. He is my best friend and I know he will be gone from me some day and I don't know how I will bear it. The poem puts things in perspective and I'm hoping I will understand sooner rather than later.
Here is a saying I found that I love,

"Some horses come into our lives and quickly go.
Others stay a while, make hoof prints on our
hearts and we are never, ever the same."

I guess you know the feeling.
Have a great day and God Bless!

Thanks, Guypix. Yep horses are the very breath of me. Don't know what I'd do without them.
Thanks for the help on the printer issue too. Not only did I "fix" the old one (yep, still working), but I got a new Epson and I am loving it. It's not quite as good as a new horse, but very close!!!

I kow exactly what you mean. I have had more than my share of my "horse of a lifetime". Most people have ONE of those. I have had many over the years. I had one very special one for 26 years. He was mean when I got him. he was killing calves and pawing their heads off and trying to kill every person that came near him. he had one good spanking from the good witch and never had another EVER in his life. he made the best horse anyone could ever want, won all his hundreds of shows but 4 and didn't do bad on those either.
I had no regrets when he died. he gave the the best life anyone could ever enjoy and I gave him a much loved, pampered retirement, so no regrets. I feel for you when the time comes, but hopefully it will be a good while longer that you two have together. Be blessed!
