Well--I finaly had a chance to pick up some sewing machine oil and will work on it tomorrow as per JR1 instructions. Thanks all for you're help.

I find PB BLASTER (yellow can) to be better than WD-40. WD-40 has just been around longer. PB also markets a spray can which they call similar to WD-40.
PB Blaster is the absolute best on rusted bolts etc. Not too sure as to it's lubrication properties.
It's what Nikon has been using on the D600 (not really.) LOL
