A few days ago I asked for suggestions to get my Epson V600 scanner running. When I turned it on, the power LED would light up, but that's all it would do. I hadn't changed any connections, but I reconnected and plugged into a different USB port. Nothing.
So, I bought another one. I turned it on, and the power LED lit up, but that's all it would do. I kept plugging and unplugging, and finally it started working.
I got my old scanner and connected the wires that were running to the new one. It now works fine. It is connected with the same power cable and the same USB cable, plugged into the same USB port. The only difference is the $183 I spent.
For some reason, the old one would light up but not run, and it was exactly the same with the new one. Now they both work - and the connections are exactly the same as they always were.
Go ahead. Offer an explanation. I dare you!

Your old scanner was lonesome.

Well, I do have my HP all-in-one, and a very old Epson scanner, so I have four days covered. :D

You mean USB? I tried a different cable, and it made no difference. The one that's working now is the same one I had before.

Yes, but I never got it wet, and I never fed it after midnight. :D
I've asked Epson Support about this. I'll let you know what they say.
I saw where you sent your photographic spirit to someones D7000 for assistance, maybe your scanner was jealous???
Hmmm...read about your delima the other day, and your new scanner behaving the same way. The only potential problem I could come up with is a dirty USB port on your computer? Hope it continues working well for you.

I have only one photographic spirit, and I let that go to a UHH member in need.

I would agree, except I tried it in several ports
