Yesterday, a friend and I decided to take a mini road trip. One of the stops was a local farm with absolutely gorgeous plants and a fantastic shop filled with homemade goodies, including fudge and produce. My friend indicated that the older lady who greeted us had been there for over five years!
This fixture was in the middle of the lawn. I thought it was an outhouse, but why the shelves around it?
So, do you have any clues as to what else it might be?

Since there are no vents no an Outhouse!! WAG = maybe a potting shed for a very thin person.
Maybe for drying &/or smoking produce or ????

Potting shed for sure
Well, since it's at a produce, plant, and a long-standing farm, it might be. Perhaps this is how they did it in the old days!

Looks to me that is from 2020 when people hoarded TP. Lots of shelves to store what they were able to find.

Especially if they don't get rain there.

True, but I remember those days and I wound't have left them on the outside!
Maybe a combination "potting" shed (the flats with seeds would be on the shelves around the outside of the shed, and larger tools such as shovels, rakes, etc., stored inside. There is some ventilation at the top front, and being near what appears might be a planted field, it could be a dual "facility" which makes going to the more formal outhouse near the barn or house unnecessary.
Actually, it is an outhouse, the shelves are for books and magazines. Back then, people were thinner. Also, to so e the vent problem, their stuff didn’t stink😊.
Planting shed shelves for pots and etc. inside shovel tool storage
Looks like an outhouse with shelves for all of your picnic supplies and food.
