overthemoon-nice shots.
i feel sorry for that poor duck, though.
I saw the title but didn't notice the duck till I looked back after your post.
Ducks have a tough life. My son and I hunt them by sneaking up on them from the shore. We sometimes get rebuffed by annoyed coyotes who were sneaking up ahead of us. They don't like us horning in on their territory. They get particularly sniffy when we have our dog. She gets a kick out of giving them the boot. She knows better than to try and run them down.
Nice series...the eagle doesn't seem too concerned about his mallard (maybe just a bad take-out joint)

Quick white balance adjustment in Photoshop.
PS: The tack sharpness of your image really shows. Nice work!
Apologies for the late reply on this thread. This is a nice adjustment MtnMan! I have to say though, I like both images. They have different "feels" to them. I did notice the amber cast on the first image making me think this was either sunrise or sunset which to me is magical. Your wb adjustment does make it "pop" more and appears sharper. I'm curious overthemoon, which of the images most closely captured what your eye saw? Again I love both. I'm working on some portrait shots with custom lighting "tungsten" and tweak the wb to have a little bit of an amber tone for realism and I like to know what is more accepted in the photo world. I'm assuming if the corrected image won an award, this must be more pleasing to most eyes? All three of the shots are definitely wall hangers!

It was fist part of the morning so mine is the closet to the time zone. I did redo all my images and set for day light 3 of the egles then won awards so people's eye liked the adjustment more then my original. Thanks so much for the comments. Everyone's imput has helped me a lot and if I didn't make the adjustments I don't think I would of won the award. One of the photos has a chance at being published

I went to Brownsville to watch the swan migration and was lucky to photograph about 20 eagles hunting for ducks. Wow what an experience
   Super shots! Great photo op! A little bit of Photo filter adjust in PP should take away the yellow cast from the morning sun. What equipment were you using and how close were you? I think the feather detail is great! Thanks for sharing.

I did I really should repost the new ones(: they turned out fantastic I have a canon 60d and a sigma 150 500 I shot at 500 mm but was able to get pretty close as to not spook the eagle. On another shot I moved in to fast and the eagle took off without eating so I felt bad and took my time on this one
