This is the side of the home not seen in the other picture. The illusions continue. Draw a straight line from top to bottom that bisects that window at the bottom left ....that a completely flat surface. Draw another straight line that runs left to right and and that bisects that window at the top right of the picture. That's a flat, continuous surface the whole way.
I have idea why the overhang is there. Apparently the wood planking on the overhang didn't provide for relief from the rain, or light, and he settled on another solution. There is a small window under the overhang. There's a very small room that I could see, with only a commode in evidence.
Unusual to say the least, Tom.
Ever been to the Winchester Mystery House is San Jose, CA?

By far, Mike. It's the most unusual old home I've found up there.

No I haven't, Jack. But I have read about it.

Oh yes I do remember those S & H Green Stamps and we use to collect them every time we went to the store. I also remember going to the Spur station and getting some glass wear every time we would purchase gas. That has been a while back. Oh yeah I did like your shot and thanks for showing it to us.

Hi, David.
That's the last shot of that old home. However, old barns and homes ( more barns ) are something I shoot a lot of.
I appreciate you commenting.
Tom
Good capture of a strange structure Tom.
Don
Is that on the second story of the building or around to the back? There doesn't seem to be any window casing so I'm wondering if it might not be a overly large opening for a pigeon coop, or, if on the first floor, maybe there was a ramp up for chickens to use. It would explain the small roof to keep the rain out and to provide shade for the opening.

I often wonder why people do certain things (for at least 30 secs.). this could have been one of those things.

Thanks, Don. Strange is the right word for that old home.
