I had a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers going to town on a log in the wood behind my house yesterday. I see them often, but rarely together and usually at long range. I snuck to about 70 feet from this pair.

Very nice photo!!!
I have only seen one in person and it was at a distance. I would be thrilled to have 1 in my yard; two would be unbelievable !! Congrats!!

Thanks Dodie. I see them regularly but usuall at a distance. They're normally quite skittish. But these two were on the ground and I was able to stalk them undetected.
