I've started this new business of land based aerial photography. I've now been officially in business for two weeks and have done 6 paying photoshoots using my 60 foot telescopic mast. Here is just one example of a comparison from ground level shots to my way of doing things. If anyone would like to recommend me to realtors, architects, builders, etc. I would be extremely happy.

The view alone should sell this property.
Excellent idea! Works well for wide-open spaces. How well for conventional neighborhoods?
Take a look at this one with just a little (?) tone mapping added. On this one, I was practicing from my driveway and shot one of the neighbor's house.

sexton....wow...great idea and very effective. Who would believe that changing viewpoint can make that vast amount of difference. Hope you do well with your new technique

Great affect. Like the clouds.
Already got that one nailed Mr. Nikonian, but thanks for the tip.

Is this from your 60-foot mast, or another elevation source?
That was actually taken from our 16th floor hotel room while on vacation. The "filter" effect was actually done post-production in ps3. My thought was do the opposite of what architects like to do when they photograph model towns that they build. In most cases they try to make their shots look real. I wanted to make the real look like a model.

Good luck with the business. Different views of a home certainly should spark interest, and yours are definitely different! The 'model' shot is great. Love that effect.

Yeah, it looked quite a bit higher than 60-feet. (16 stories = 160-feet).
I believe that you have a very interesting sales tool. Is someone else doing this as well, or is this unique to you at this time?
I would love to see a photograph of your van and mast, at both lowest height and fully extended.
From the research that I've done, there are about 6 of us in the country using a mast. Quite a few more in England, Canada and Australia though. I had to purchase the mast from England in fact, the mast head from Canada. As of right now, she's not mounted to a van, the box is mounted to the top of my Ford Fusion and I use the portable tripod mount for it, guying it when I extend over 30 feet. Looking to purchase a small SUV to mount it too soon though. I'll take some snap shots of the set up when I go do my Monday morning shoot.

Mr. Nikonian,
Sorry for the delay, but I hadn't had the chance to get a shot of my rig until now. My backup camera is in the shop so I had to shoot this with my iPhone. For the moment, it's loaded up on my passenger vehicle, but will be on an SUV or pick up by the end of the month.

Excellent documentation. We look forward to seeing more aerial results.
