The Wrong LCD

I received the LCD for my old Sony camcorder yesterday, but it's not right. After removing the old one and looking at the new one, I saw that the new one is missing a ribbon cable. It should have five, but it has only four. I might be stuck, because the eBay seller described this as being for the Sony HDR-SR11, which is exactly what I have. At least it was only $24.

So close! I'd like to see the factory where those tiny screws are made. They're maybe 2mm long, with tiny, tiny threads. One thing about camera screws - they are not put in very tightly, which is a good thing. They are snug but not overly tight.

I ordered 2 new wheels for my Craftsman lawnmower and since Sears doesn't have the part any more I buy some generic ones from Amazon. I hope they fit. If not I have to send them back.

The cable I'm missing seems to be for the backlight of the screen.

I've ordered several small wheel/tire combinations from amazon, and they've all fit. It's funny how a car tire can go thousands of miles before it must be replaced, but the tire on a wheelbarrow or a small trailer can't last more than a few years.

I have a 1969 Ski Doo trailer that's on its last legs. I've replaced the lights and wiring several times and also the wooden decking and the hitch. The metal frame is rusting, so I'll have to buy a new trailer someday. It comes in handy for sheets of plywood.

Eventually everything wears out, including us.

I needed 2 very small screws and didn't trust my ability to determine the proper screw size. Went to my local optician and the tech tried several of their tiny screws and found 2 that fit nicely - charge? Nothing.

Before biffing anything away (including laptops) I strip it down and keep all the small screws. I have a large plastic bottle full of them (which I will sort out one day or leave for my son). And when repairing anything I do my best to always do it on something, like a towel, that will trap screws if they become errant travellers.

Funny! I do the same thing. I save wire if there's enough of it. I bought a new clothes dryer, and I disassembled the old one before bringing it to the dump. I saved all the screws and most of the wire. I don't think the motor is worth saving. I have a magnetic tray that holds screws securely.

I have a jar full of computer-related screws.
