I learned that they leave the old knots in place (from autumn harvest), and just string new twine up beside them.

My camera's "auto" white balance was challenged by the field of purple with yellow-reddish poles. I shoot in raw and set my WB in an editor anyway, but was weird to see what was showing up in the viewfinder.
