How long would the browsers on a Win10 machine stop working after Microsoft stops supporting Win10?

Next year Microsoft will stop supporting Win10 (forget about the subcription extension). Assuming that I don't care about sercurity how long will the browers stop working? For example right now I can still surf the web to certain degree with Win7 but need certain version of Chrome to do it. When will the same thing happen to Win10?

Depends on the browser developer.

I had two browsers continue working on Win 7 long after Win 7 was no longer supported, but they would no longer receive updates from the browser developer under Win 7. They still worked though.

That's all I need. I really can't buy new computers when 2025 comes around. To my dismay Visual Studio 2022 needs an internet connection to run. That means I can't read Jerry's post on the UHH but can't write programs either.

I ran with non-updated browsers (Firefox and Chrome) for almost a year before I replaced the Win 7 tower.
You shouldn't loose your ability to connect to the internet, I didn't.
Visual Studio is another story. Maybe its operation may have been updated to utilize Win 11 functions?
I don't use it.

Only one of those has a potential downside.

I'm still running Firefox on a Win7 laptop - just no updates. No big deal.

Not anytime soon. Many users are running Win 7 (~15 years old) and browsers are running just fine. The big change that made XP browsers obsolete was the move from http to https which required SSL and TSL as part of the OS

Why do you need chrome? I go all over ,anywhere I want to go without problems with Windows 7 and Firefox.

Personal preference....

I prefer Firefox, my wife prefers Edge.

(But your Firefox won't update anymore under Win 7.)
