While the tree holes fascinate me, it is a special discovery when I find that it belongs to a squirrel. It has become a sneak peek into a squirrel's life. Sadly, the squirrel in the first two shots lost his home when we recently had bad storms. I am hoping he has found a better replacement.

I was thrilled to discover a mama and her two youngsters in the past week. I have been fortunate to catch them in the tree hole, and now I find them often playing together in the jungle of trees above. It has been a special time to witness this journey with the family. Hopefully, I can go through those over the weekend and share these cuties.

As always, I hope you enjoy!

Nice set. The 2 photos with just the bark missing looks like it closed the door behind itself!

I like them all, Barb! But honestly, I think the tail hanging out of the tree hole is the coolest, most interesting one!

Thanks! I appreciate that! That's good feedback, as it accompanies a short story I've written. I'm always trying to learn, so why is the tail the coolest?

Just because it's an unusual perspective, I suppose. It makes one stop and think for a minute. And that's a good thing! It happens so rarely.

Interesting, thanks. Whereas the others are obvious. Good point.

Thanks! Like that compliment. I think it's just me being perhaps a bit persistent, so I was there at the right time.

Ah, thanks! Appreciate the kind words! They are cuties, though they can also be brats!

Very cute set Barb. Did the squirrels tell you if the tree rent was reasonable?

Very interesting collection of squirrel photos. The squirrel-in-the-hole format creates an interest beyond just looking at squirrel photos. But the last photo gives away your secret for getting squirrels to pose for you. It's the peanut shell in his mouth. He didn't find that in the tree. Do they follow you around now looking for more?

No, but I think I heard them complaining about some trees being cut down!

Thanks, I'm glad you found these interesting!

Nuts, I'm caught! Yes, I confess I do pay with peanuts, and some actually come running when they see me. Funny, though, there have been quite a number of times that my squirrels actually pose for me, and there have never been any peanuts offered. I guess the word has got out that I pay up.

Funny, I was surprised to see the shell in his mouth. In the past, before I knew it was a home, I had put a peanut at the entrance. After I found them in the hole, I put some peanuts at the bottom, which was sort of a thank you. Thing is it looks like an empty shell!

I have a bird feeder outside my front door and I watch them feed. I also have squirrels and chipmunks running around too. I put a couple of peanuts in the shell out for them and they disappeared quickly. Put more out and saw that it was starlings that were snapping them up.

Question. Does BAchme stand for Batchelor of Art, Chemical Engineering. I have a daughter with one of those.
