Info for flower lovers. Please read.
These are old pictures, taken when I was even worse at it than I am now. Forgive me and please read.
You have all seen the beautiful miniature roses Walmart sells close to Mother's Day every year.
Many of you may (like I did long ago) may have thought of them as house plants only to find out that they will die in the house.
I'm not sure how far north they are hardy but one year I was given this pink one and as usual it started to die. I decided that since it was dying anyway, I'd take a chance and see if it would survive outside. THIS is what happened. I let it get up to 7 feet tall once.
Here's the good part. When the blooms all die, trim 3 or 4 inches off and it will bloom again quickly. Make sure it has water every day for the first 3 weeks then water WELL at least twice a week. This one was hardy outside in NW Tn on the Ky line, so I know they do well there.
They come in red, pink, yellow and white.
Lovely. My wife has some growing but they are yellow.
Wow! The one with the fingers for size comparison is REALLY cool! Unless you have REALLY big hands!! And then it's STILL really cool!
Gorgeous. The last puts it in size perspective.
Wonderful set, Jo! The last one is a great finale.
Thanks for reminding me Jo. When we lived in California I used to buy miniature roses for my wife for special occasions like "it's Tuesday" or "it's been nine days since pay day." Once the blooms started to fade, outside they went.

They are beautiful Jo, and you are a genius! That explains why I made so many miniature roses die. I'm saving your information.

My glove size is small. These buds are really tiny but there beauty makes up for their size.

Thanks Barbara. I didn't bring a cutting with me when I moved to Alabama so when Walmart get them in, I am going to have some new ones to put out. I can't resist!

Thanks Mike. Those tiny buds are smaller than a dime Mike. The open blooms can be as small as a quarter or some as big as a half dollar.

You may be giving some of these guys ideas today Jack. I think every wife loves to receive gifts that tend to beautify her world. As often heard here in the south, "You done good"!

Thank you. I'm glad to know it brings out feelings. That little concrete garden statue is not quite knee high.

Thank you Walter.
I'm just pretending to be a genius, but I know that everyone who loves flowers would love having these tiny beauties.
