I've been using a larger, plug-in unit for years, but this little guy does the job. I haven't tested it for distance, but distance really isn't the point.

For $12 bucks, I got this battery-powered unit that sends an FM signal to a radio. I can connect it to an iPod or a cell phone and hear the music from radios in the house. It also works in the car.

I should get one of those and cancel my Sirius contract, which is a ripoff at over $200/year. I have a portable CD player and over 300 CDs of music from the best decades ever, 1960-1979, which is what I listen to on Sirius. Is there such a device that uses Bluetooth instead of FM?

Yes there is bluetooth transmitter but does your car stereo has an AUX input jack? If so you can plug your CD player in there. Also doesn't it have a USB port too? Then you can transfer your CD to a thumb drive and plug it in there.
But as far as bluetooth transmitter you can check these out.

If you car has a USB port, you can put thousands of songs onto a tiny flashdrive. I have a couple like below.

I ripped my favorite CD's about 15 years ago and added them to a host of mp3 files from YouTube, Limewire and Napster. They are in my Music folder on a dedicated SSD on my PC. I have over 43,000 files (many are entire albums). I transfer files to flash drives for listening in my car. In my home I have a Sonos Arc, subwoofer and two auxiliary speakers. All my music files on my dedicated SSD are wirelessly available via the Sonos system. The sound is superb.

Quick segue ....
I have just inflicted a bunch of "Moby Grape" music upon my great grand nephews
who believed I listened to "the Archies".

If you have an AUX port, you can copy your mp3s to an mp3 player. I have a Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox and a 128 Gb card in the slot. Everything I own is in the Sansa.

I hook up my cassette deck to the AUX input. Works fine. Just take up the passenger seat.

Wow! How many cars or radios do you have on Sirius? For our car, I pay $99 for 3 years on my renewals or about $3 per month. Been doing that for almost 10 years now.

I think I would try to renegotiate the contract.

Call Sirius when you renew and tell them the price is too high. I have been paying between 5 and 6 dollars per month for years.

Last year I went to cancel my $245 annual Sirius plan and lo and behold they offered me a better plan for $130. You may want to try that.
