Can anyone tell me of any legal site that sells 2nd user software please? I would love Adobe cs4 or similar at a knockdown price!
(Already have GIMP and Adobe Elements 10 etc......

Thanks in advance for any replies....

Try your local CraigsList. Look under "Computers."

What does it say in the write up? If it says it's full legit copy and it turns out not to be, eBay will cover you.
CS4 is pretty old now, so I hope you're getting a bargain. Maybe think about trying for a copy of CS5 as it contains lots of new useful stuff.

An important thing for Adobe products is that they have been deactivated on the previous machine (menu Help/Deactivate). Then Adobe will allow activation on another computer.

I always buy new versions of Elements and pass the older ones on to my children.

If you are concerned about legalities, you may not want to go that route.
I don't know about PhotoShop but most software licences do not allow the user to retain, sell or give away the original software if they use the upgrade option to get a later version.

It will work (usually) but it is not strictly legal.
I suggest you read the software licence before you take that route.

It very definitely applies to Photoshop - look at Adobe's EULA on their website. You can only pass on full versions, although with Elements I always buy the full version for less than the upgrade price so there is not problem (subject to the original version having been deactivated). Adobe also talk about getting their authorisation before changing owner, so check on that too.

Thanks DaveMM,
I was just too lazy to look it up.
