I had initially planned on sharing my latest discovery of the occupants of the tree hole, but I haven't had the time to edit all of them as it has now gone into 3 days of work. Today, I was presented with something that I thought I'd share instead.
Some of you may remember a recent post about my elusive image involving tree fungus. Typically, I will leave some peanuts on the picnic table while working with my guys. As I finished working with one, I caught a squirrel doing what I call snatch and run! So, I teasingly scolded it and said I saw that and suggested at least they could give me one shot. I suggested they could run up the nearby tree and pose on the fungus and then quickly, for some reason, that yellow stuff! As he did just that, I was shocked for a moment. He first posed on a nearby branch and stared down at me! He then made his way over to the fungus and gave me several shots. Sadly, the lighting was so bright I could barely see; if that's not enough, this tree is really high! So, it's not the best quality! You'll also notice that one image is strange. I suspect it was one time I tried to adjust for the lighting. I played around with it, as I wanted to salvage the pose.
After he completed his task, he quickly ran down the tree and exited, perhaps afraid I'd ask for more! Later, when I was in the area, I saw a squirrel again on the fungus and wondered if this was a favorite spot as it had a great view of the area!
Thinking of what had just happened, I thought it strange. This is not the first time my guys have responded to a request. They say squirrels are very intelligent, but wow, talk about being good at timing.
Hope as always you enjoy. My life has never been dull since meeting these little guys!
Great captures. Especially number 5.
I think you're going to have to invest in something a little higher class than peanuts to reward good behavior, Barb!
Nice set!

Nice set!
What now, my squirrels are on the computer and talking to you and suggesting this! Next I will be getting a call from their agent! Will have to talk to my CPA and see how I can get a tax write-off! Peanuts are not cheap!
Thanks for the feedback and the humor!
Hey, I don't know where these thoughts come from! Angel speaking in my ear, maybe!
Clever of the squirrels to find a tree with balconies, Barb.

Voices in your ear, maybe. Angels, what's wrong with that picture?

Of course, it appears the playground area has the high class residents! Only the best, comes complete with a playground area with lovely mulch and picnic tables for those family get together times!

And people feeding them for free!

Good one!
Hey, but think about the generation I am working with! Of course, they would expect that's provided!
Looks like someone has found a very nice balcony.
