Digital Artistry - Lioness (First Step)

I'm attempting to create and paint a digital lioness. As a Leo, I thought it would be appropriate with August not far away.
Each of my sessions starts with a rough sketch which serves as a concept and a foundation to build on and this is the sketch for my lioness.
The next step will be to use the sketch to create the outline to block-in the base colors for the painting to follow and build upon.
I want to share the process of this piece as it progresses (unless it ends up in the trash bin).

Off on a running start. You've already done a lot better than I could ever do. Excited to see it step by step

I sort of cheated. I saw the finished product before seeing these two in process shots. It amazes me.
