There is an episode of the “Big Bang Theory” where Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) plays the theremin much to the chagrin of the rest of the cast.

I remember that. His girlfriend played the harp on the show, and she learned it just to play it on the show.

I seriously think I could play one. I'm not kidding. All my life as a child I thought I could play an organ...loved hearing them. At 10, a neighbor got a steel guitar for Christmas. I sat down and played a few songs. For some reason I just knew I could. In my teens I played a uke. At 40, I found an organ for sale at a good price and bought it because...again...I never had tried, but I knew I could. Sat down as soon as I got it home and played my favorite "Amazing Grace." Hubby had a hard time with that. All he said was "You scare me."
For some reason, I know I can play a banjo and a violin, but NOT a guitar! Don't ask because I have no idea.

Some people are like that. I can pick out a tune on almost anything, but I'm not a real player - of anything. I have ukulele, guitar, banjo, piano, electronic keyboard, harmonica, and tin whistle. I wish I could play any of them successfully. I keep wishing, but I'm not improving! 😳

I suggested to my friend who wanted a theremin that she might like a cheaper musical saw. "Cheaper" means $150 and up. That's not very cheap for a piece of metal with a wooden handle.

You are a man of many talents!
"I'm not improving": the same words I say about my photography. I don't give up but I feel I am just spinning my wheels. I did far better as a 10 year old with a film camera and a dark room!
The only instrument I brought with me when I moved to Alabama is my Yamaha organ. It's sort of old now and at my age, I won't replace it when it dies.
Of course I have my paints and brushes so I still stay way too busy.

I am thankful for whatever I can do because good or not, I still enjoy it.
