Are they kidding?! Chinese Temu is talking about a privacy agreement. The entire country is a vacuum for worldwide information. 🤣

"Hi Temu user, we're reaching out to let you know we have introduced new ways to ship products to you even faster by allowing certain of our Merchandise Partners to ship directly to you. When you purchase a product on Temu, we may provide certain Merchandise Partners with your name, address, and order information to enable them to fulfill your order and ship the product to you directly. Note that we will not otherwise share this information with Merchandise Partners without your consent. We have updated our Privacy Policy to reflect this change.
By continuing to use the Temu services, you acknowledge and agree to our updated Privacy Policy.
Thank you,
The Temu team"

I've bought many things from them without issues. I figure by now anyone who wants my info has it. I Mena OPM was hacked, ATT, too many credit cards to remember. I don't put my photo on anything and rarely give details on equipment owned, but otherwise I figure the Chinese, N. Koreans and Russia has everything.

I refuse to use them as well as TikTok. I also look for USA products first before purchasing something, if I can get USA made even for a little more money, it's worth it to me to spend the extra.

I agree totally. 'Other countries' probably have all the data they might want on everyone here on UHH. Not by hacking UHH but because a government dept or a major NGO with your private info stored, has already been invaded. Hospitals to Electricity companies, and everything in between worldwide, are of more interest to, lets say the Chinese, than someone buying a small item on Temu or Ali Express.
Ive bought 'stuff' on both because of price or non availability here in NZ.

I support 'buy local', but with a caveat, it's got to be affordable.
Example; you know those little thingamajigs that protect the contacts on top of a camera where you might place a flash light? I lose them and to buy one here they are about 20 bucks. I bought a pack of 4 recently on Temu for NZ$7.90. Including postage. Took 8 days to get here. Plus they have a little green 'level' bubble on top. Probably of little use but quite pretty.
I have a Peak design camera strap that came with just 2 attachments that go on the camera. I was going to buy 4 more attachments with the little red button, from a shop in NZ. (so I could use the strap easily on 2 other cameras). Price in $NZ307! I bought 4 from, I think it was, Ali Express for about $15 inc postage. Pretty quick postage in an envelope. Okay not quite the quality of an original Peak but seems just as secure.

Even on Amazon, they're reasonably priced.

Is it something you did? Or do you just avoid websites that carry Temu ads?

There is no privacy today. I have talked on my cell phone and mentioned a product and within 30 minutes, often sooner, I start getting adds for that product, then emails a little later. And if you mention a product or look up a product on the computer the whole world knows and you start getting adds from everywhere. Privacy is a myth.

I didn't expect Temu to have anything worth purchasing, but I was wrong. I started purchasing things right away just to prove to myself that everything would be junk. Much of what I purchased was functional, the right size and affordable. Free shipping included.

Sometimes a woman wants something to wear one time, it is affordable on Temu. It's polyester, not silk, but at silk prices I can get 30 Temu things. Wear once and give to charity. I figure they are going after Amazon, not the little mom and pop shops. (Amazon and Walmart already destroyed most of the mom and pop stores)

It would be nice to buy American, and I always try, but many of the items I am looking for are no longer available by an American manufacturer or way too expensive for what I want.
