I had not heard of this place before, but my sister told me about it when I visited her last week in Delray Beach. Truly amazing place. I live in Sarasota FL and always thought the Venice Rookery was the place to shoot nesting birds. This place was far better. By coincidence, I visited in the heart of hatching season on a perfect day with great late afternoon light. 3/4 mile perfectly maintained boardwalk that allows you to be within mobile phone camera proximity to the critters. Must have been 300 wood storks alone on 3 separate islands.

Excellent work, Rick. Nikonbill shoots from there frequently and has taken other Hogs on tours of the area.

Nice set! That's the first time that I've noticed green on a Wood Stork!

I didn’t know that either. Saw it when reviewing my shots. Who knew?
