Here's a before-and-after, showing a snowy landscape, converted to mono and with a stormy sky added.
Great job! You've definitely created an ominous mood. I particularly like the contrast between white foreground snow and dark gray clouds.
Where the trees meet the sky on the right-hand side could use a little attention to appear less contrived. Not sure how to resolve, perhaps darken the treetops there, selectively?
The 2nd image is much more dramatic, for sure.
Converting to B&W gives a clear message to button up your coat and head for shelter; drama well done. Are the clouds added or part of the BW conversion?
For fun try experimenting with different blacks offered in Topaz B&W2 ... black is not just black, it comes in flavors.

I played with it for a bit, Topaz Clarity may do the trick, it allows modifying various levels of contrast thus trees become more individualized. Denoise AI and sharpening AI helped with background-right individuality.

It's cold just looking at it! Sky really does make the whole scene more fridgid!
Both are excellent. I'll stick with the original because I love the warm colors and the less menacing sky. You definitely gave it a dramatic look with your edits.
I'll go with the B&W version, it makes me want to run for cover
Converting to B/W and sky replacement works for me. Very dramatic.
