Exactly right. Actually take the Remington 7400 with a longer magazine and you have a rifle the Left loves but is twice as powerful as any AR or AK ever made if in a caliber such as 280 Remington, 30-06 etc. and it will fire just as fast as those pesky h**ed rifles. A Winchester Model 100 will do the same thing. High powered semi auto rifles have been around since the late 1800's. Why has the Left just now decided to h**e semi auto rifles?

In California we have the most restrictive gun laws in the country. Unfortunately they only restrict law abiding citizens from purchasing and owning pistols and rifles legally available to the rest of the country. The problem is these laws are passed to make the left feel good with no regard to causal factors of abuse of firearms by the lawless or mentally impaired. When one dissects the restrictions or prohibitions delineated in the laws it becomes quite clear that the authors know absolutely nothing about firearms. A good example is passing a law to prevent the sales or proliferation of AR type rifles. I guess they reasoned that by outlawing certain (offensive) features that the gun manufacturers would not produce rifles specifically for this market and that people that owned would have to sell out of state or possess an illegal weapon. Well here is a California legal rifle after passing the assault weapons ban. It no longer has a collapsable stock and you can’t wrap your thumb around the pistol grip. Effective legislation, probably not
