Our camera club had an outing at a local junk yard yesterday. I went with visions of Old Car City. A jumble of rusting hulks overtaken by time with a patina. Instead, I found a modern, organized layout with clear aisles and people intent on recycling to meet their needs.
Given the many photo ops, I am not sure if anyone will find the result interesting. I will share other shots, but right now I am thinking about the categories indicated on the photos in the attached set. Any ideas you might have for improvement in presentation are welcome.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
HAPPY EASTER!
Nicely shot but not what I remember. What I remember is leaving your car at the gate. Check in at the office where they checked your tool box. Then walk on into the yard and start looking for what you need/want. Some Stromberg carbs to be rebuilt and sold. Maybe a set of heads for a 283 or OMG a 392 Hemi. It was a treasure hunt conducted for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.

This was the same, but it was my camera bag that they checked, Jack.

Wow, is nothing sacred? Interesting photos and I like! So not sure what you are asking. Categories? What sort of presentation?

Thanks, Barb. I have decided to just present the shots in a variety. I think an entire post of old car brands or junkyard still lifes would be too much.
I appreciate all your thumbs up, Frank.
Junk yards shouldn’t be organized. Why that’s Un-American. 😅I find the third shot works for me.
I love that third shot, Mike.
I used to be a real junkyard fanatic. I was always looking for rusty things to shoot for the rust conversion work I do.

Thanks, Frank. It would have been better with good weather.
