Netflix Upgrade

Netflix offered me the chance to upgrade the quality of the video I watch for an addition $7.50 a month. To persuade me, they showed a blurry example of what I'm getting now and a very sharp example of what I could be watching. I really don't care! besides that, what I am watching now is sharp, provided it was recorded sharp. Going from $17 to $25 is not in my future.

I don't see anything I want to see on Netflix but I am tempted to subcribe because they have many programs on 4K. I am a sucker for sharp TV. I sat at the Yodabashi store for an hour watching a Bunkaru performance in 8K.

They want you to pay for UHD/4K. I don't find standard HD to be particularly blurry at the distance I sit to watch TV. I have 55 and 65 inch TVs. When I play a UHD/4K disc, I can see some difference but not much unless I get very close to the TV. I'm not going to pay them for the upgrade either.

My Netflix isn't blurry, either, but the standard example they showed was not sharp. Advertising!

"False" advertising! That used to be illegal but now almost all advertising is/contains a lie or huge deception and nobody with any authority seems to care.

Good choice.
The monthly charges (for cable media) keep rising, as if our retirement checks (suddenly) got a boost before the cable investor groups, decide to increase fees.

They think the public, don’t notice.
——I suppose the only way to win is to buy shares of their media stock holdings.——

Netflix has stayed the same for me for two years, and it went up just $1.50 then. I like the lack of ads. I don't watch Prime now because of the ads. YouTube movies are hit or miss with ads, but they are usually very short.
