First photo with my new lens, had to collect a lot of pop cans to get a 100 to 400 L series lens.

It really isn't the type of lens you can use all the time. Send it to me.

Really nice shot.

Looks like it was a beautiful sunset but...
The sky is blown out in the upper left and the way it's distorted makes me think 'extreme photoshop'. Plus the lamp-post that is sticking out in the lower left is distracting, and the tower is centered. So my eye is confused as to the subject matter, is it the tower, or the sunset... either way I'd have to say 'no' to this photo.

Have fun playing with your lens! Hope to see more :)

I was just made aware that this is the 'stroke my ego section' not the 'critique section' I apologize...

All three comments easily fixable with a crop to eliminate the left side and bottom...come in about one fifth in each direction.

It won't help BGenie's confusion because all sunsets have an auxillary subject...but if you like it then the crop might help.

I'd probably clone out the wires too.

It would have been better to have the brighter stuff behind the tower to increase contrast but with sunsets and big buildings it can take a lot of walking to change perspective enough to get what you want...and then the coloring will have changed on you. Sometimes you can't even get from point A to B. So I'd be happy with what you got.

Yoshca, the colours are beautiful. As a Calgarian, where did you shoot it from? My guess is Centre Street Bridge.

The shot was from the 4th floor of the Travelodge near Barlow and 32nd. Thanks

ALL sunsets have an "auxillary" (thing providing supplementary or additional help and support) subject?... Don't think so! Obviously you didn't bother to look at my avatar. I know people who collect/capture 'clean' photos of sunsets, nothing in them but brilliant colors from mother nature.
