I had never heard of "confidential stuffing," but it's a security concern. If a hacker gets a combination of ID and password, he'll "stuff" that into every site he can find, hoping for entry. The best protection is to use a good, unique password for every site. (from Ask Leo!)
One thing I do not like about signing in to websites is having to use my email address as the ID. Right away, the hacker has one of the two security entries. I prefer to use a specific ID for websites, but many don't allow that. I'm surprised that so many websites use the email address. Maybe selling email addresses is a way for them to make more money.

True on the email ID.....
With custom IDs one can make them as one would make a unique PW.
