The authorities asked Google to turn over to them all the information about all the people who watched a certain YouTube video. The number of potential watchers is about 30,000, with name, address, phone number, and email address potentially being turned over to the authorities.

I have been watching a lot of the old Perry Mason episodes on Pluto TV (1950s). Almost every criminal he exposes as the murderer is caught by having his private eye, Paul Drake, search phone records, public utilities records, airline, rail and bus records, hotel registrations, and who knows what else to find out who called whom, who went where and when, and what day and time it was.

Now, this is fiction of course, but we all know we have been tracked since the day our births were recorded. You can run, but you can't hide. All we can rely on as innocents is the integrity and honesty of the courts to protect us from abuses and excesses. I would say that it is getting more difficult all the time, given the current state of politics in the world, and the biases in place at nearly every level. Those seeking power and control have always disregarded such fancy notions as "right and wrong," favoring the elimination of opposition instead.

We used to say "It can't happen here," but we see "it" happening all the time, and we just choose up sides ignoring the excesses on our side, while accusing the others of excess, instead of working together to bring real justice.

This was about cybercurrency, something beyond my comprehension. I'm sure they would accept a list of dissidents, too. Google didn't say if it granted the request.
