I'm still practicing and experimenting with different brushes and ways to apply digital paint.

In years past, I would pass time by Tole Painting on mailboxes, saws and saw blades, barn wood, etc. This is my attempt at that style using a digital paint program and a digital display tablet and stylus.

I've attached a few images of this scene as it progressed to show how it flowed from start to finish.

Neat! My mother painted in that style. It's Tole "derived from the French term 'tole peinte de lac,' which means painted tin". I fixed your opening

Love your limitless energy in exploring creative outlets!

Thanks, Veralisa. I spent a large part of my career creating technical illustration drawings for mechanical systems along with conceptual and presentation pieces. These were precision drawings with details showing dimensions and how the systems were to be fabricated and constructed including 3-D computer-generated renderings.

The pieces that I create now are solely for my enjoyment and they are the polar opposite as they are fast and loose leaving much for the eye to fill in for the fantasy of my creations.

Thanks, Curmudgeon. The best part of painting with a computer is that there is no mess (somehow, I would end up with as much paint on me as on the canvas) and there are no brushes to clean in a stinky solvent.

Thanks, Kpmac. Passing a little time as I wait for the critters to show themselves on the wildflowers.

Developing the skill is a stepwise, at times difficult, process... thanks for sharing your how-to...

Toll House cookies... come to mind... humm, did they have painted tins?
