A break in the storm

I posted this in the Photo Gallery, but for those of you who don’t visit there…

The storm broke just long enough for the sun to illuminate the mountains.

Thanks, Curmudgeon. The whole drive was stunning. My wife took the shot for me because I was busy driving. The phone overexposed it because it wanted 18% gray and the scene definitely wasn’t, so I had to edit a bit to bring it back.

Thanks, Bob. The ironic thing is that fifteen minutes before this my daughter and I were griping about how limiting phone cameras are. And then this happened. 😂

I would have preferred to have one of my big cameras with a longer lens to catch the amazing detail on the edge of the mountain, but the phone did plenty-fine with a wide scene. And the phone camera is always ready. It’s much better than nothing at all, and often all that’s necessary.

Excellent shot. You and the hone really nailed it. Fo not think a full size camera would have done better.
