Frustrating Screen Recording

I occasionally make short recordings of what's on my screen - the monitor, not the screens on my windows. Occasionally, it's not possible to record from the screen. It's somehow possible to block users from recording screen content. I tried four different programs, and I got sound and a black screen.

If I was desperate, I could use a camera to record the screen, but I'm not desperate. I wonder how they prevent recording.

Maybe they recognize your computer.

Short answer is it's not possible to prevent recording what's on your screen. It can be made a bit difficult and stop cursory recordings with HTML/Java code but those wanting badly enough can always record no matter what. Personally, I've rarely encountered this and if I did, I wouldn't likely be bothered to circumvent the hiding HTML code.

And one who know the ins and outs can usually directly access the file if it's on a web (server).
A little work, but possible.

Have you tried this on another computer? The one you're using may not be able to keep up with the video transfer. I know this because it has happened to me on one but not another computer.

Yes, many programs can record the screen - unless the owners don't want you to record. You can't record Disney - at least not a few years ago.

Just for the heck of it, I'm going to setup my cell phone on a tripod and record the scene off my laptop. I don't like being defeated. 😋
