Buildings like these are not seen every day in this modern age. I love the character and durability of the structures. Everything seems very well maintained, too. There is something very special about small towns that are well preserved. Fortunately, here in Florida there are quite a few if you get away from the big cities. I really enjoyed this set.

Thank you very much, Carol...appreciate. I agree, this type of architecture isn't equalled today for charm and character. Some really interesting/unique houses will be posted soon.

Kind of reminds me of an old movie in which all the people on earth suddenly disappeared.

That is about what it seemed like last Saturday...mostly had the place to myself.

At Mt. Pleasant, Utah and their historic buildings. We love to drive through these old towns and capture their beauty. Architecture today seems so sterile by comparison. This will probably be a multi part series to showcase Mt. Pleasant before moving on to other locations.

Nice set of images of small town architecture. A lot of unique styles reflect individual tastes of the builders. I suspect these type of buildings are more common that you allow. I think county seats all over rural America have buildings like this. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, county seats were the place where all significant business were located along with their owner's houses. A lot of Victorian houses in rural counties in Ohio.

I think that a lot of the small towns with their architecture have been swallowed up in urban sprawl and sadly with more to come.

Wow, memory lane... I recall in Leesburg Florida the "Main Street" was from late 1800s and up to 1920. The new mall devastated business. I recall the bank was a Marble Roman structure architecture.

Thank you for showing these beautiful structures. They upgraded them with bold paint of colors not of the age when built... wonderful.
