On my Apple iPhone the above type calls are identified. I want to automatically delete them. Is there a way to do that? Telephone service tells me there is a setting on the phone to do this, but not sure what it is. Appreciate your help.

On the iPhone (though this might depend on your carrier) - go into Settings-->Phone-->and scroll down a bit until you find "Silence Unknown Callers" - tap that and turn the function On.

Note that what this does is cause the phone not to ring at all if a call comes in from a number not already in your contacts list - including Aunt Sally if she has a new number. So the vast majority of spam calls don't even ring. However, callers (including Aunt Sally) can still leave a message.

One warning - I discovered I need to turn off this feature when I place a call to an office or business and the automated system will call me back - because inevitably the number they call from is t=not the one I called to reach them.

I let the phone ring. It tells me if it's suspected spam. I have a pleasant ringtone, so I let it ring. If it's something important they will leave a voicemail. If it's not and they leave a voicemail it's easy to delete. Spam voicemail only happens in about 5% of my spam calls.

I used to keep track of the spam calls and put them in my contacts. I had a really annoying ringtone that would answer them and alert me that it was spam. But they always use a different number so that really didn't work well. Now my iPhone tells me if it's spam. If I don't recognize the number I just enjoy the ringtone and let it go to voicemail.
