This is funny. Someone posted a question asking how to backup a computer to an external drive.

Former Ex-Pert (1992–present) Author has 23.3K answers and 3.7M answer views Jan 9
I’m not sure what you mean by “external” hard drive. The word seems irrelevant."[/i]

🤣

External means outside the PC.
Internal means installed inside the PC

And this is exactly why one shouldn't immediately believe everything on the internet.

Expert my asstrophysicist.

Expert (noun: ex-spurt) used to be drip.

Tis. You back up to an external drive the same way you back up to an internal drive or a flash drive or ---

If (s)he's an ex-spurt, that implies (s)he's no longer a spurt. So maybe (s)he has evolved from a spurt to a drip? Slowing down like that would likely be positive progress (as opposed to the much more common negative progress).

(apologies for the limitation of pronouns to only 2 choices).

Wow, so unknown sex is no longer referred to as male in the <American> English language?
Sorry, I'm not pandering, even though an "it" may be much more appropriate.......

"X" being an unknown quantity and "Spurt" being an uncontrollable drip under pressure.
