Sharp shot of a beautiful bird. Well done.
Thank you, Carol! I'm glad you liked him!
Going to Tucson in a couple days. Hoping to get some good shots. What parks or refuges do you suggest? Nice shot by the way.
Gorgeous! Very nice work.

Thanks!
There are more knowledgeable Tucson area folks on the UHH, but I can make a few suggestions.
Saguaro National Park. There is an East and a West section. Both nice. East is a shorter, faster visit. One loop road, about eight miles long. West is much more diverse and could be an all day visit if you want it to be!
I'm not a big fan of Zoos, but Reid Park zoo is pretty good. Right in town.
The Desert Museum is great. West side of town. Good zoo and a free flight raptor feature that is usually pretty crowded, but really good for raptors in flight shots if you are into that.
A little further out, Patagonia State Park. A lot of stops in the area for hummingbirds with feeders to attract them.
Some have entry fees, some just accept donations to help with bird food. There is a pretty good RV park next to the lake there.
I've heard good things about Madera Canyon. I have never been but intend to go in a couple days. A ways out of town, but I hear that it's worth it.
Way further out is Buenos Aires (SP?) National Park, I think! Really good! Lot's of Vermillion Flycatchers. A whole tree full of them one time!! And a good visitor center.
Update!! It's a National Wildlife Refuge!
I hope this helps!
